Happy Holidays!

My absence from blogging has been mostly due to the obvious - the holiday season. I also had the urge to do more of what I really needed to be doing more of...being with my family. I kept up with reading a few blogs here and there but mainly I've haven't been online and I haven't been crafting/creating anything special. It's been a nice change of pace.

I wish to thank all the ladies that were in my ornament swap group. All the ornaments look great on our tree! I promise to post a picture on Flickr soon.

This will probably be my last post for this year so I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has visited my little corner of the blogsphere this year. I wish that you all have a wonderful holiday season, surrounded by your families and friends, and may the new year bring you all much joy and peace! See you in 2007!!

wip - got a little more done

I got a little further with this project last night. I think I'm finished with it...I think. It's one of those things where I don't want to go overboard. I want to keep this project simple. I'm not even sure what I'm going to do with this illustration/block print/embroidery thing yet (I don't even know what to call it!). A couple of options include framing it or stretching it over a small square canvas... the list goes on and on. In any case this is a small practice piece for some Christmas gifts that I have in mind.

Gotta run...too much work to do!

Unexpected

The holiday cheer has finally reached my blog and site in more ways then one. Both needed a little seasonal decor and I finally sat down and came up with something simple tonight. My site also has a new and unexpected product. It turns out my little ornament has been greeted with a small measure of success. I've received several emails asking me if I'm selling my ornament so I've decided to add it to my shop as a holiday limited edition product. Grab one while you can - here!! :) Thank you to all who have given me such nice compliments. They are all truly appreciated! :)

New month, new projects

I don't recall if I mentioned this before but I helped out with graphic design for an indie children's film produced here in The Woodlands (a small city in the outskirts of Houston). The movie is called The Bracelet of Bordeaux (visit the site here). I designed the logo of the movie, the patch seen here and other props. I even designed a fake website home page for the Wood Sprouts that will be seen in a very short scene. I got a little IMDB page because I worked on this movie... hehe! There's nothing there though. This movie is very unique because everyone involved volunteered! This new model of indie movie making has garnered some serious attention. The movie premier is December 15th and I hope it does really well!!

In other news, my cut-paper cards are now a thing of the past. I decided they are no longer what I want to be creating. They will hold a special place in my heart because they got A Little Hut started but I think it's time to put them to rest. I just kept a couple of Christmas designs on the site but after the holidays they will be gone too. I'm concentrating my efforts on new designs and hope to have everything ready for the new year. I've been so busy with other things that the store hasn't received the proper attention it deserves. But my plans for 2007 are different. Wish me luck with that!

This is a new wip. I have no idea what it will become. Notice the left over cork from my ornaments? I'm seriously in love with that material right now.
