a procrastinator at work

I DO have real work to do but I decided to take a little break and work on this for a bit. She's dressed now! I couldn't leave well enough alone and I had to make a dress to go with the bag I made the other day. Oh and yes, she is wearing white after Labor Day but I think she's headed off to some private island where such a concern doesn't cross the mind. ;)

By the way what should I call her? Any suggestions?

The outfit isn't something I'd really wear but I think she looks cute. I couldn't really make decent shoes because she has awful looking feet. They're shaped like fluffy slippers. I shouldn't criticize her feet too much because mine are nothing to brag about. :(

Speaking of feet, I've been a total slacker in the marathon training this week. I'm so behind now that it's really starting to worry me. Tomorrow I'm supposed to run 6 miles. I don't think that's going to be happening. Wish me luck!

One routine that is sticking is our "back to school routine". It's the end of week two and we're back in the groove. Thank goodness! I still can't make it to bed before midnight (old habits die hard) but I do feel more rested lately. It helps to be able to work in silence all day before the crazy homework/dinner/bedtime evenings. You'd think that I'd have the TV or music blaring all day but I rarely do either. I enjoy working with the sound of the fan overhead and my buddy Otto (our Miniature Schnauzer) at my feet.

Well this is my little break for the day and I still have some work to do before the day is over (aka picking up the kids from school) so I'll catch you next week. I haven't finished my recycling project so that'll be coming. Have a great weekend everyone! :)

  1. So creative Patricia. Love the lady going to the beach in her sandals, white dress and tote.

    Good luck with your training.

  2. Lizelle.......(pronounced like Gazelle) That's the name that popped into my head when I saw your lady! I have no idea why...just did :)

  3. Mirta. She reminds me of my mom, obviously named Mirta. My mom doesn't own a pair of jeans! She goes everywhere dressed like she is going to meet the President.

If you're looking for a more American name, then she looks like a Jacqueline to me. It's actually French, but you know what I mean.

  4. Miss Mary Rose. Actually the dress looks a little like the one I just bought to wear to a wedding on a beach on Vancouver Island. 'Cept mine is petrol blue.

  6. Love your blog. She's darling! I have a hard time when it comes to names, I could hardly figure out what to name my own kids-- so no help there.
I did want to let you know that I just ran my 2nd marathon a couple weeks ago. I was completely undertrained cause I just had a baby 4 months ago, but I did it! I know you'll do just fine-- even if you think you've been slacken a bit! Good luck!!!

  7. Thank you all for the great name suggestions! I don't know which to pick!!

Thanks for the words of encouragement Missy. And I'm amazed! Running a marathon after only 4 months of having a baby! You have my total admiration!

  8. I LOVE the complete outfit, Patricia! So adorable. I've got no names for you, but I'm inspired by Julieta's mom Mirta - I should really work harder to go everywhere looking like I'm going to meet the President.

I like to work in silence, too. I get distracted by music, because I want to sing along. I have silence all day, and when hubby gets home he turns on the tv. Too hard for me to concentrate after that!
