nice surprises

I had no idea several of you had commented on my chalk lamp idea. Thank you! It seems that Blogger is being unfriendly with me again and not sending me updates. As far as the lamp goes, I am so ready to go buy proper chalk paint but I just haven't had the time. My daughter simply loves it! Imagine her thoughts... "mom, is letting me draw on a LAMP! - weee!!" At least that's what I think goes through her mind. The truth of the matter is that I find it just as fun.

I've been burning the midnight oil for the last couple of nights and there's nothing exciting worth showing. In the meantime I've found a couple of interesting blogs (because they mentioned my calendar at some point - thanks!):
- Monoscope: a blog of interesting design and art of all types
- Surfgarden (in german): for web design, blogging and all things mac

Another one I found out about today:
Make Something Today - a list I had no idea existed and there I am in the top three. No idea how that happened but I'll take it. :) There are so many blogs to look at there. I certainly don't need my bloglines to grow any more than it already is!

Oh and I saw this Beringer vineyard commercial today and just about died. Such paper goodness!

Going to watch Project Runway... (soooo disappointed I accidentally found out who 2 of the finalists are! boo-hoo!)

Thank you for posting the link to that amazing ad. I was totally in a paper heaven. Thanks again to you, for all the inspiration you give us.

  2. i just love reading your blog and getting inspiration from you...i am more of a scrapbooker but your ideas are amazing!! Especially the calendar...that was awesome!

  3. If it makes you feel any better, Wordpress has been having "comment hiccups" too! For some reason I didn't get comments emailed to me for a few days! Humph! lol.

Hope you're having a wonderful, creative Thursday! :)

    Love as always.
Patricia, I have tagged you. No pressure - only when you have time.

  5. This is a link to my blog; where you will find a link to a blog about making your own blackboard paint any color you want it.

  6. I was wondering if you would be interested in a graphic design contest that I'm having. If so please check out the first post @ Thanks for all your effort.

  7. I haven't checked out Laurie's link, but I wanted to mention that Martha Stewart did an article awhile back about making chalkboard paint by adding dry, unsanded tile grout to any paint. (1 cup of latex paint to 2 T grout)

I haven't tried it yet, but it looks fantastic and I have big plans for it.

  8. Laurie and Wendy: Thank you so much for the tip regarding the chalk paint. That looks like fun to try!

Zero: Thank you for the invitation but I'm simply too busy right now to take on another project. Thanks.

I welcome all your comments and read every one of them. If you have a specific question I will be happy to answer it!

Thank you so much for visiting!
