Illustration Friday - Cake
A couple of days before this week's IF word was posted I went to purchase a bathing suit. As I'm standing in the dressing room this is what came to mind. I need to be carrying this sign around to remind myself that I'm a week away from a trip to visit people that haven't seen me in 3yrs or more and I'd like to look my best. So in the harshest Seinfeld Soup Nazi voice I can muster I say to myself: "NO cake for YOU!".
Illustration Friday - Sorry

Yeah, this doesn't exactly scream 'sorry' at you but here's my little explanation of this.
For whatever reason I couldn't wrap my head around this word. Being crazy busy this week didn't help either! I really didn't know where to start. So I literally started with the letter S. After that everything started falling into place. Tears are sometimes part of being sorry so I wanted to include them in some way. I also thought that after the tears, apologizing and what not there is hope - hope that the storm will pass and that things will be "normal" again.
If you're wondering where the swan comes into all this... the word swan (as a verb) means: to declare or affirm solemnly and formally as true. I thought that fit in nicely but stuck with the animal as symbolic for that definition.
36 and happy about it!
I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day!
Ponderer, thank you for the good wishes and for actually remembering that my birthday was coming up. That's was very sweet of you! :)

Crafty Synergy - new look, again!

HGTV - Take 2
You can never have too many
I've been itching to get my hands working on something 'crafty' so I dug up some old yarn and started knitting. I have no idea what I had originally planned to do with this bright orange yarn but here's what I did with it this weekend - a little purse for little C. She already has a purple and a red one that I made for her a while back. I love it when she decides which purse she'll use on a particular day. One day she'll love one and hate the other and the next day it may be the opposite. At 3 she's quite a girly girl!
