Therapy

Don't you ever have the urge to just make something - anything? Just as long as you can get your hands working on something?

After a very busy day yesterday I had that urge. I've had this print, that started as an experiment, floating around my studio for several weeks now. Some of you may recognize it as a block print I made for a card I had in the shop. This particular print is not of the best quality but it proved sufficient for my needs last night. The few minutes it took me to embroider the two birds was enough to make the stress melt away. Just what the doctor ordered. :)

  1. Know the feeling exactly! An unexplained compulsion to make three cone-shaped felt trees, each one decorated differently has driven me the past five days! One is decorated with beads and sequins, one with embroidery, and one with embroidery and sequins. Now that they're done, I can go on to other projects :-)

  3. Your linoprints alone are beautiful with all these tiny details ... but this extra spot of colour makes it even more adorable. Your mix of fabric, print and thread really is excellent.

  4. I do know the feeling... I feel like I haven't had that opportunity for a while now... this is just beautiful. I'm still looking at my stack of lino-blocks and trying to decide what to do with them... Sometimes I think too much. ;)
The little spots of bright color are lovely on the neutral toned fabric. Keep up the lovely work!
