Off to Maker Faire!

We are minutes away from leaving. We're on our way to Austin for the Maker Faire (check out the post on Craft about it here and here I'm on the Craft booth schedule). I'm running around like a mad woman getting everything ready! That's a big part of the disappearing act this week. I've never done a live presentation of any of my projects but I think I'll manage and I'm really looking forward to meeting a lot of interesting creative people. I'll come back with lots of photos. Wish me luck and have a great weekend everyone! :)

  1. Good luck! You'll do great. I did a couple of craft demos at maker faire SF and it was such fun, you'll have a blast!

  4. You did a great job! Your presentation made it all seem doable even by a clutz like me. I'm just sorry that your booth was in such a yucky location... maybe they will find a better location next year where the craft related boothes will be someplace air conditioned (like the Make exhibits)and not in a dirt floored animal exhibit area. Congratulations for making the best of a bad deal.

  5. You did GREAT! I really enjoyed your demo, and loved your artwork, I only realized you had a blog after I got back and was recapping it! I would've introduced myself!

I couldn't agree more with Alice about the location, what a wreck. Especially with so many great places in Austin where it could've been held!

In any case, I hope you sold some thins, and I love your blog, I'll be checking back!

  6. Hello Patricia,

It's Kyle from the Maker Faire. I was hoping to say hi today but I got caught up in the junk booth and was very focused. But the couple I was with, Alex and Jennifer, said they talked to you again. I just wanted to say I really enjoyed your work. It was inspiring. I just posted a blog over at my site (kylesteed.com/blog) and mentioned your work. I'm excited about it and I think other people should be too. Well, I'm off, take care.

ps - we bought our frames from IKEA today, and I had junk mail when I got home. YES!

  7. Thank you for all the good wishes everyone! I think they worked. I had a great time. :)

Thank you VisualVotary & Alice. Yes, the location wasn't the best but I had so much fun that I really didn't pay too much attention to that. I'm glad you enjoyed my demo! :)

Kyle - I loved talking to you, Jennifer and Alex. It's so fun to see others take off with my project ideas. I can't wait to see what you come up with and thanks for your kind words regarding my work. :)
